The annual Women to Women Leader Luncheon, at which four women will be presented with leadership awards, is scheduled for noon at Wednesday, May 13 at the Par-A-Dice Hotel.

Presented by the Community Foundation of Central Illinois (CFCI) and the Women’s Fund, awards are the Business or Professionals Award, the Education or Arts Award, the Community Service Award and the Young Woman’s Service Award, which is a scholarship to be given to a high school senior. There are 25 women nominated for the awards.

These awards recognize local women who best exemplify excellence in their chosen professions and a commitment to the success of other women. Reservations for the luncheon can be made online at www.w2wleaderluncheon.com through May 6.

The Leader Luncheon was started 37 years ago by the Peoria YWCA in 1978, and resumed in 2014 by the Women’s Fund. Over the past 36 years more than 215 women have been recognized through its awards programs. This will be the 36th year, because there was no awards program in 2013, after the YWCA ceased operations.

Sponsors supporting the 2015 Women to Women Leader Luncheon include UnityPoint Methodist / Proctor, Jim Maloof Realtor / Elaine Wild and Alpha Media - Mix106.9 as Gold Sponsors, OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, PIP Printing Marketing Service and Par-A-Dice as Silver Sponsors, and Bronze Sponsors include: Associated Bank, Essential Wellness Pharmacy, Heyl Royster Women’s Forum, House Works by Jim, Mitchell Family Trust, and the State Bank of Speer.

Money raised by the Women to Women Leader Luncheon will, in part, help grow the Women’s Fund endowment, from which it makes significant grants annually to local programs and causes that “Strengthen Families and Communities by Empowering Women and Girls.”
