The Black Crowes will bring their "Lay Down with Number 13" world tour to the Peoria Civic Center on May 28, the Civic Center announced Thursday.

The group will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Civic Center Theater. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. for $49.50, $44.50 and $39.50 at all Ticketmaster locations, Ticketmaster.com, the Civic Center Box Office or by calling (800) 745-3000.

The tour marks the end of a two-year hiatus for The Black Crowes, which will release the live "Wiser for the Time" album set on March 19. The set is eight sides of a four vinyl-album package and will have 26 songs from the band's five-night, sold-out New York City performances in the fall of 2010, the Civic Center said.

These never-released-before versions will also be available as a double album digital download, the release said.

"The Black Crowes Chris Robinson (lead vocals, guitar), Rich Robinson (guitar, vocals), Steve Gorman (drums), Sven Pipien (bass), Adam MacDougall and new member Jackie Greene (guitar, vocals) will reach deep inside their songbook and extensive catalog, performing greatly varied set lists," the release said.

The Black Crowes were formed in the mid-1980s, first called Mr. Crowe’s Garden then changed to The Black Crowes in 1989. Its first studio album, Shake Your Money Maker, was released in 1990. The band has made nine studio albums.

Hit singles include “Hard to Handle,” “She Talks to Angel,” “Jealous Again,” “Remedy,” “Sting Me” and “Thorn in My Pride.”
