Calvin Butler, a member of Bradley University’s Class of 1991, will be the new chairman of the board for the university.

Butler, who is CEO of Baltimore Gas & Electric, was elected by Bradley’s Board of Trustees to replace outgoing chairman Doug Stewart.

Other officers elected at the board’s October meeting were the Honorable James Shadid, Class of 1979, as vice chairman. He is chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.

Kathleen Holst, Class of 79, was elected secretary of the board. She is president of RCMS in Warrensville, Illinois.

Gary Anna, Class of 1975, will remain treasurer and assistant secretary of the board. Anna is senior vice president of business affairs at Bradley.

Stewart, who received his MBA from Bradley in 1979, said the new officers are loyal supporters of the university and were dedicated trustees during his term as chairman.

“These officers are all seasoned board members and incredible leaders,” said Stewart. “They are all Bradley graduates who are fully prepared to meet the demands of a dynamic industry and keep Bradley on the positive trajectory we are on right now.”

Stewart is the retired regional president of PNC Bank of Central Illinois. He will continue to serve on the board of trustees for the next two years.

The new officers will be seated at the February 2018 meeting of the Board of Trustees.
