The Illinois Central College Guitar Ensemble will present a concert on Tuesday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the ICC Lecture Recital Hall on the East Peoria Campus. Directed by Michael Hull, the ensemble will present a program featuring the madrigals of Morley, the French Impressionism of Debussy, the folk melodies of Irish harpist Turlough O’Carolan, and more. Audience members will also enjoy solos as well as a featured guitar duo. Admission is free.
Since 2006, the ICC Guitar Ensemble has performed at such events as ICC’s American Celebration, the prestigious annual Mid-America Guitar Ensemble Festival, and concert appearances at Illinois State University, Bradley University, Roosevelt University, Lincoln-Way High School, and Grand Rapids Community College. The group is currently preparing to collaborate with the Bradley University Guitar Ensemble at the 2012 Mid-America Guitar Ensemble at Valparaiso University. |
