Help the homeless, have fun
Peoria Rescue Ministries annual
Help The Homeless golf outing is
scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 21
at Pine Lakes Golf Course, 25130
Schuck Road in Washington.
The cost is $125 per person and in-
cludes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch,
awards and giveaways. The pro-
ceeds go toward Rescue Ministries’
efforts to help the homeless.
Registration is at 11:30 a.m. followed
by lunch, then a shotgun start at
12:30 p.m.
Sponsorship opportunities, which
allow golfer entry fees to go directly
toward helping the homeless, are

Summer Concert to Benefit
Alzheimer’s Association
Peoria area residents can enjoy the
vineyards, taste wine and hear local
musicians at an afternoon Summer
Concert at the Winery, with proceeds
benefitting families affected by
Alzheimer’s disease.
The Summer Concert at the Winery
will be noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 29
at Kickapoo Creek Winery, 6605 N.
Smith Road, Edwards.
The $10 per person admission
fee includes wine tasting (three
samples) and musical entertainment
by Boogie Shooze, Jazz Slayer and
Greg Williams. All proceeds benefit
the Alzheimer’s Association-Central
Illinois Chapter, Peoria.
Tickets can be purchased at the
Chapter office, 606 West Glen Ave.,
and at Kickapoo Creek Winery.
Tickets also may be purchased at the
winery on the day of the event.
The Central Illinois Chapter offers
programs and support services to
help improve the quality of life of
area residents dealing with Al-
zheimer’s disease. Its mission is to
eliminate Alzheimer’s through the
advancement of research, to provide
and enhance care and support for
all affected, and to reduce the risk of
dementia through the promotion of
brain health.

Easter Seals Golf
& Tennis Classic
The annual Easter Seals Golf & Ten-
nis Classic is scheduled for Wednes-
day, Aug. 8, at WeaverRidge Golf
Club in Peoria and the Country Club
of Peoria.
Golfing will be at WeaverRidge and
tennis will be at the Country Club.
A dinner, raffle and silent auction
will follow the golf and tennis at the
WeaverRidge clubhouse.
