FROM DOUG:
1. Working as a corporate
photographer,
as with any job,
one must serve his customer/
client/boss with their needs
first. I always delivered what
was requested but since I was
more expert in image creation I
would always deliver what I felt
would better suit their request.
Almost always they liked what I
gave them better than what they
originally had requested.
2. My biggest influence
is my
heart. There is so much that I
don’t know, I can only trust my
feelings. I do my best to follow a
path of love and not fear.
3. My advice to any
photography student
is to shoot
anything and everything that
catches your attention. Save the
editing for later when you can
spend time evaluating what you
do or don’t like about the images
you caught.
4. My first realization that
I could take a good photo
was when I was 10 years old
and captured a picture of my
cat looking down at me while
perched on a tree branch, with a
background of fall-colored leaves.
The picture was a Kodachrome
slide and the colors and clarity
was absolutely stunning. I can
still see it in my mind’s eye 54
years later.
5. The camera that I use the
most
is the one I have with me.
