Morton hosts its 46th Annual Morton Pumpkin

SEPT. 28 - “LARAMIE PROJECT”
AT CORN STOCK THEATRE
Corn Stock Theatre opens its 2012-2013
Winter Playhouse season with “The Laramie
Project” and “The Laramie Project: 10 Years
Later.” To be performed in repertoire format,
on alternate evenings, the plays surround the
beating and subsequent death of Matthew
Shepard, a gay student at the University of
Wyoming, in 1998 and the aftermath of the
incident, one of the most renowned hate
crimes in U.S. history. “The Laramie Project”
will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 28,
Oct. 3 and Oct. 5 and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday,
Sept. 30. “The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later”
will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 and

SEPT. 28-29 - FOGELBERG TRIBUTE WEEKEND
Third annual Dan Fogelberg Celebration
weekend, which will include a welcome party
at 8 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Cornerstone Building,
a picnic at Riverfront Park from noon to 4 p.m.
on Sept. 29 and the Tribute Concert featuring
artists Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen at

SEPT. 29 - THE ZOO RUN RUN SCHEDULED
The 34th annual Zoo Run Run is a fun and
healthy way to support the growth of the
Peoria Zoo. The 5K race will begin at 8:30
a.m. followed by a ¼ mile youth race at 9:15
a.m. that winds through the Zoo and Glen
Oak Park. Race brochures are available at the
Peoria Park District off ce in Glen Oak Park.
