 of Music with the Philharmonic Chorale</em> on Sunday, May 4, at 3:00 pm, i
 n the Illinois Central College Performing Arts Center, located on the East 
 Peoria Campus. </span><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Ticke

 alibri, sans-serif;">The concert will open with Haydn’s lively <em>Gloria <
 /em>from his “Heiligemesse” of 1796, and continues with two more pieces fro
 m the great masters: the hauntingly beautiful <em>Agnus Dei</em> by Edward 
 Elgar and the joyful motet, <em>Exultate Deo, </em>composed by Alessandro S
 carlatti.  Also included in the opening section is the stirring and poignan
 t Navy Hymn, <em>Eternal Father Strong to Save</em>. The next part of the p
 rogram features three rhythmically driving spirituals, including <em>Soon A
 h Will Be Done,</em> which starts with a conventional opening but soon kick
 s into a fun and funky gospel groove.</span></p><p><span style="font-family
 : Calibri, sans-serif;"></span><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-seri
 f;">The concert continues with three beloved American folk songs, including
  <em>Peace Like a River</em> and a beautiful Irish ballad, <em>Red Is the R
 ose</em>, which was written by an anonymous poet in County Kerry, western I
 reland. It is sung to the familiar Scottish air “Loch Lomond.” The concert 
 concludes with a humorous excursion into the Forest of Loo<em>,</em> and a 
 foot-stomping version of another American folk-tune, <em>The Unclouded Day.
