The re-opening of the Peoria Chief season in order to officially christen Dozer Park, the new name of the downtown baseball stadium, will be Friday, June 7 when the Chiefs take on Clinton. Festivities start at 4:30p.m. with free Fun on the Run family activities outside the ballpark. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:45p.m. with area dignitaries, Chiefs staff members and Caterpillar employees. The gates open at 6 p.m. with the first pitch at 7 p.m.
Also at Dozer Park that night, mini bulldozers will be given away to the first 2,000 people through the gates. There are also $0.25 hot dogs, and it’s Flat Screen Friday. That means six lucky people will each go home with a 32” flat screen TV. |
