The Peoria Historical Society will present "A Passion for the Arts," a vintage style show, at Four Points by Sheraton in downtown Peoria. The boutique opens at 10 a.m., the luncheon at 11:30 a.m., and the style show "A Passion for the Arts" at 12:30 p.m. Tickets $35, or $30 for members.
The style show spotlights historic Peoria women active in the arts, portrayed by Peoria-area women who are also actively involved. They'll wear vintage clothing and costumes appropriate to their eras. For example, members of The Women's Symphony Guild, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary, will model ball gowns from their early days and showcase the puppeteers who've performed for so many school children through the years. The show is also a complement to "Skirting Convention" -- the show of Illinois women artists at Lakeview -- and the symposium at Bradley on Illinois Women Artists. |
