Vengeance seeking monsters
aimed at
homes and lives.
ripped apart
never to be the same again.
Just as all looks hopeless
just as tears come
the strong arm of a stranger
reaches out.
A tiny flame of comfort
Broken hearts
thank God
for all that remains
family and friends.
And just for a moment
there’s peace.
