The Central Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross will host its annual Heartland Heroes Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Par-A-Dice Hotel, 7 Blackjack Boulevard in East Peoria. The event recognizes and honors people whose commitment and courage make a difference in the lives of others. Awards are presented in the categories of Lifesaving, Good Citizen, Youth, and Public Safety. In particular, according to the Red Cross:
